Bidgeesrun Guccis Gift Marshall (Marshall)
Marshall is our foundation stud dog and the heart and soul of Broadmeadow Park!
I fell in love with Marshall the moment I met him. His snuggles, his enthusiasm for life, his trainability and his friggin’ gorgeous face. Seriously. Look at his face!
Marshall is a tricolour coat (black, white, and tan) that comes from sporting lines. His father and grandfather were both flyball champions. Flyball runs deep in his DNA. It only took me three weeks to teach him. True story! He just knew what to do. He currently holds the Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh) title, the third title (out of 11) you can achieve. He’s only young and has three competitions under his belt. I look forward to seeing what he can achieve over his flyball career.
Marshall is a small dog, 47cm tall and 15kg, which reflects his breeder’s focus on breeding border collies with good sporting ability and excellent temperaments. Marshall is high-drive, so he is very driven to work and has high energy. This makes him both rewarding and challenging to train. Rewarding because he is a fast learner and wants to please, and challenging because he does things at 1 million miles per hour. I need to be on the ball to stay ahead of him. He can struggle a bit with impulse control, so we’ve focussed a lot on this as well. Dogs like this need good boundaries and regular training. You must also teach them an off-switch. This means teaching them to rest. Marshall may be high-drive, but he’ll snooze all day and is very chill most of the time!
He is very sociable, loves meeting new people and also thinks he’s a lapdog, regularly jumping into my lap for a snuggle.
