My favourite dog training YouTube channels

I was once a person, preparing to own my very first dog.

I grew up with dogs, but growing up with them is a lot different to being the one in charge.

I wanted to have the best-behaved dog. Because as soon as you tell someone you’re getting a dog, all you hear is all the reasons why you shouldn’t. They’re annoying. They jump up on people. They poop everywhere. They’re hard to toilet train. Blah blah blah. I was going to prove everyone wrong!

And so, in true Kate Freeman style, I threw myself into a few key YouTube channels and learnt so much. From the first 24 hours with your puppy, to what to train them first, to toilet training, crate training, trick training and more!

So you can be prepared for your new puppy, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite YouTube channels. I highly recommend you watch them. Get the whole family involved. Kids, Mum, Dad…

YCA Dog Training

This is the newest trainer I’ve found, and I like his no-nonsense approach.

Dog Training by Kikopup

I like her approach to training, very gentle, and she has border collies!

McCann Dog Training

These were the very first YouTubers I found. I like their approach, and I implemented many of the techniques I learnt with them with my dogs very successfully. They love sports, so it’s beneficial if you’re looking to do that with your dogs!
